Era Murugan (b. 1953) is an acclaimed Tamil novelist and short-story writer. He is best known for the magic-realist Arasur novels.
About Era Murugan
He was born in Sivagangai in 1953. He worked in banking and IT before settling in Chennai. He has been active in Tamil letters since 1977. He has published ten novels and eleven short-story collections.
His Arasur quartet runs to more than 2,000 pages. Its English translation was shortlisted for the Crossword Award. He also wrote the Sahitya Akademi monograph on Sujatha. He translates from Malayalam.
