What is Zero Degree Publishing?
Zero Degree Publishing (ZDP) is an independent Tamil book publisher based in Chennai, founded in 2017. We publish and sell more than 900 titles across seven imprints — Tamil novels, non-fiction, history, poetry, children's books, classics and translations.
What kinds of books do you publish?
Contemporary Tamil fiction, narrative non-fiction and history, poetry, children's books including the Amar Chitra Katha range in Tamil, spiritual and self-help writing, Tamil classics, crime and thrillers, and world literature translated into Tamil.
Are your books in Tamil or English?
Most of our list is in Tamil. We also publish a smaller number of English titles and translations in both directions — English into Tamil and Tamil into English.
Do you publish Amar Chitra Katha in Tamil?
Yes. We carry the Amar Chitra Katha range in Tamil, a popular choice for younger readers and families.
How do I place an order?
Order online at zerodegreepublishing.com. Browse by author, genre or imprint, add titles to your cart and check out. You'll get an email confirmation right away.
Do you offer Cash on Delivery (COD)?
Yes. We offer Cash on Delivery across India, to every serviceable pincode.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept UPI, debit and credit cards, net banking and other major options at checkout, as well as Cash on Delivery across India.
Do you deliver across India?
Yes. We ship to all states and union territories in India, including remote and rural areas via India Post.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are processed within 1–3 business days. Standard delivery then takes about 5–8 business days; express delivery to metro cities takes 2–3 business days; and same-day delivery is available on select Chennai pincodes for orders placed by 12 PM.
How much does shipping cost?
Standard shipping is free on orders above ₹499. Express delivery to metro cities is ₹99 flat, and same-day delivery in select Chennai pincodes is ₹149 flat.
Do you ship internationally?
Not at this time. We currently deliver only within India and require a valid Indian delivery address. We hope to offer international shipping in the future.
How do I track my order?
Once your order is dispatched you'll receive an email with a tracking number and a link to follow your shipment. Tracking can take up to 24 hours to start updating after dispatch.
Can I pre-book upcoming titles?
Yes. Selected upcoming releases can be pre-booked on the site, and they are dispatched to you the week they print.
What is your return policy?
We accept returns of undamaged, unread books in their original condition and packaging within 7 days of delivery. Return shipping is borne by the customer unless the item was defective or incorrect. Please email us with your order number to start a return.
My book arrived damaged — what should I do?
If your order arrives damaged, photograph the packaging and the book and contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We'll arrange a replacement or refund.
How do refunds work?
Once we receive and inspect an approved return, we refund to your original payment method, typically within about 10 business days. Your bank may take a little longer to post it.
Do you take bulk, school or library orders?
Yes. We supply schools, libraries, booksellers and bulk buyers. Email us at orders@zerodegreepublishing.com with your requirement and we'll share pricing and a bookseller order form.
I'm an author — how do I submit a manuscript?
We're always reading new Tamil writing. Email us at orders@zerodegreepublishing.com with a short note about your manuscript and we'll tell you how to send it. The annual ZDP Awards are another route into print.
Where are you located? Do you have a store?
We are based in Chennai at 75 & 76, Kuppusamy Street, Balaji Nagar, Padi, Chennai 600050. We sell primarily online and ship across India.
