About Kalki Krishnamurthy
He wrote under the pen name Kalki. He was a novelist, journalist and freedom activist. In 1941 he co-founded the famous Kalki magazine. He wrote over 120 short stories and several novels.
Kalki brought Tamil history alive. Ponniyin Selvan tells of the Cholas. Sivagamiyin Sapatham covers the Pallava age. Alai Osai won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1956. It was the first Tamil novel to do so.
