About Zero Degree Publishing
Zero Degree Publishing (ZDP) is an independent Tamil book publisher in Chennai. We were founded in 2017. Today we are one of South India's most active literary publishers. Our catalogue holds more than 900 titles. Hundreds of Tamil writers are published with us.
We publish the books Tamil readers actually read. Our list covers novels, non-fiction and history. It also covers poetry, children's books and self-help. And we publish world classics in Tamil translation.
What we publish
Readers come to us for many favourites. N. Chokkan writes biography and business books. Pa. Raghavan writes history and geopolitics. Charu Nivedita writes boundary-pushing fiction. Kalki wrote beloved historical classics. We also carry the full Amar Chitra Katha range in Tamil.
The house runs seven imprints. They are Zero Degree Publishing, Ezutthu Prachuram, Madras Paper, Kamarkat, ZDP Specifics, Piragu and Talkie.
The ZDP Awards
The annual ZDP Awards began in 2021. They discover and publish new Tamil writers. Each year's winning books go into print with us. Past winners are on sale on this site.
